What a weekend!

We had a great weekend, as it was full of parties and get togethers with friends and families. To start off, Denis had his big 3-0 last week, and here is a nice pic of Denis and Laura. Happiest B-day, Denis. I wish I could have been with you, but this summer! Yeah July 1st!

Friday night we had Tom, Paula, Mabel and Felisha over to our house for supper. It was a really great time. Lots of laughs with each other and with the new kitty. After supper and playing with Ginger, the ladies decided to play a game called Worst Case Scenerio Surviving Life (great game!) Mabel won!

And what were the men doing? Well, I'll let the pics explain it all.

Saturday I got to go to Halifax to get my car serviced. It gave Alicia and myself a chance to get together to enjoy a nice meal at Cora's. The really great thing was that we got it free!!! I forgot my wallet at home, and though Alicia was going to pick up the bill, the waiter somehow got rid of the check.

Saturday night was also a blast. We hosted our first couples' games night. We has Dave and Shelley, Steve and Julia, and Josh and Felisha with us. We played the same game as the night before. It was a really good time. We'll have to do it again some time soon!

What a great weekend! Well, bye for now!

Ginger and Amber

What a start to a week. After a rather relaxed weekend with Jon helping his parents lay flooring and me swimming with my friend Geneviève, we have had two busy days getting new pets. Today Jon and I got our kitten, and we called her Gracie. Here are some pics.

Gracie relaxing in her bed. She is still really shy.

Gracie still in her bed, but starting to sleep.

And on Tuesday, my parents got their puppy. They have been looking for a couple weeks, and here she is. Her name is Amber, and what a hyper thing she is. Her and Maggie will be great friends, I'm sure.

Blond with blue eyes.

And Jon digging us out Monday afternoon. We had a real snow day...finally! We got to go cross-courty skiing and have some fun out doors.

Well, here are the latest members of our families.

Ski-dooing!!!

What a fun weekend we had. It all started Friday night with breaking from our normal routine of groceries and movie. We invited my parents and Toni over for supper. It was nice to have some quality time with them, as life has been really busy for us at work. My parents are looking into getting a dog, so a lot of the night was spent searching the SPCA in Nova Scotia for my dad's new best friend. They have applied for one in the Dartmouth area; a black lab with boxer. Very cute looking and hopefully she will get along with Maggie!

Here are my parents relaxing on the fouton as we chit chat and discuss the next great chef.

Toni was with us Friday night but left for youth group before I could get a
pic. Here is her Saturday night, after Jon and I got home from Halifax. She babysat Maggie. ;-) Oh and there are my new glasses.

Saturday day was spent sleeping in, eating breakfast, and then heading to the Davidson cottage for some outdoor fun. We got to go skidooing and skating. I love to skidoo, so it was really nice to finally get out. We had to stay on the lake, as there isn't enough snow, but still fun.

Here is Paula, Felisha, and me. They skated most of the time. And played hockey. Josh and Fe are also looking into getting a puppy, which Jon and I found for them on the internet Friday night.

Here is Jon getting ready to skidoo.

All in all a great weekend, and hopefully Maggie will have some new friends soon.

Trading Spaces: Classroom addition

We had a nice weekend. We managed to get work done but still felt rested. Here are some pics.

Jon bought himself a mask for insulation and painting. Looks more like he is being attack with deadly gases.

One of my favourite Saturday routines is to sleep in and then have a great breakfast. This is what I made this past Saturday: Blitz crepes with blueberry syrup, bacon, and mango/strawberries with yogourt. It was yummy.

Satuday supper was spent with Jon's mom and dad (right) and his grandparents (left). It was a nice supper with some catching up. After that, we headed to my parents for a bit to see how they were, and watched movies.

Gridiron Gang is a great movie. The best I have seen in a month.

Now is the make over part of the blog. Here is my new classroom all fixed up and ready to go. Classes started today, and they went really well. I have some really fun kids.

The wall of sarcasm. Students have already
picked up the art.

My desk. I will be getting a new monitor in a couple days.

And the garden.

Well, bye for now.

Snow DAY!!!

One of the perks of my job is the always desired snow day, and well, today is a snow day. But....where is the snow? As can be seen in the picture below, all we have is the snow from two weeks ago! But who am I to complain? A day off is always appreciated.

The snow which caused the snow day.

Maggie enjoying her snow day, as she does everyday.

Well, to all of you at work right now, hope you enjoy your productive day, as I somehow manage to find the energy to do...something. I guess. (hehe)

I was suppose to have lunch with my parents, but they forgot. They decided to pick up the kids who will be spending the weekend with Toni early, thus forgetting about making me delicious soup and sandwiches. I'll just take a rain check, Mom and Dad.
