And we present...

Maggie!!!

We decided to get her. We drove to the Digby area last Sunday where we picked her up at the SPCA. She was immediately playful with us, but settled right down once we got on the road.

Since Sunday? Well, I don't think we could have gotten a better dog. She is friendly and smart. Maggie was already house-trained, so that was a relief. Our new carpets are saved! She loves to go for walks and get belly rubs, but is able to hang out by herself while we are gone all day. We set her up with a long leash on a long rope, so she has plenty of room to explore. There is also a little dog house under the house (the mini-home is not being skirted until next year) for when it rains. Besides her already good habits, she has adapted very well to our routine, though she is learning that once we are asleep she can lay on the couch all night. We are training her to stay off funiture.

But all in all...we are so happy. Maggie is the perfect addition to our family. I'll put up more pic of her when I can get a hold of a digital camera.

In other news...our tree is up and all presents are bought, wrapped, and the last will be mailed tomorrow. I only have one and half weeks until Christmas break. Jon has two, but then we get to sleep in, hang out with family, and enjoy the season. Pics coming soon.

And lastly, as I mentioned before, my sister-in-law and brother are going to have a baby. But since I wrote that, I was informed that it will be a boy. Yeah! Can't wait to see him, Denis and Laura!

Doggy with no name

Last night at a Davidson dinner, Jon and I found out about a dog who is part husky and who is looking for a home. We have been thinking about a dog but not until the summer. However, this dog is going to be put down on Thursday is no one takes her.

The dog was found by a lady who took her to the SPCA. They say she is about 2 years old, happy and good with kids. We will be finding out some more information in the next day or so, and we will keep you posted. Here are two pics of our potential new dog. Not sure what we would call her. Any suggestions?
