Birthday, Flowers, and a classroom

This was a pretty busy weekend. On Saturday, Jon worked for his uncle doing construction at Carsand Mosher in Bayers Lake and then headed for to his cousins Birtjday party. It was Ashley's 21st birthday, so HAPPY BRITHDAY, ASHLEY!!! You are offically an adult all over the world.

I was planning on going, but since this is exam week at school I had to stay home to make up the exams. It took all of Saturday and an hour today; however, they are done and printed off in colour. Of course we had to run out of black ink. hehe

When Jon cam home after the party, he surprised me with the flowers you see below. What a sweetie. And there was cake too, but we ate it before I got a picture.

Flowers from Jon.
Today, Sunday, we went into my school to start fixing up my new classroom. I have been replacing a teacher on Mat leave, and with her coming back I have to take a new classroom for my new courses. It has only been used for the Breakfast club and a few resource classes, so the room is in need of a little fixing up. So I present you with: Trading Spaces, Classroom edition. Over the next week, I will be cleaning and organizing the classroom you see below. Next weekend will be pics of the finished work. So here are the BEFORE pictures!

It is very bleak and disorganized, but we'll see what I can do. Oh, and I am getting my glasses ordered this week. Not sure what I will get, as I dislike the look of all glasses on me. I'llkeep you posted.

It has been awhile

So, it has been awhile since I last wrote a blog entry, but my excuse is that life has been busy and well, I have been waiting for a digital camera. So here is the news...

* Jon and I had a very nice Christmas. Though is was super busy with two familes, we really enjoyed ourselves and got lots of rest. I got to see my brother Steven, who was down from Toronto, and we had a few games nights together. Unfortunately, the only sad thing about this Chrsitmas was the lack of snow; no ski-dooing for us.

* I am back to school and only have one more week until exams. After exams I change jobs. I will be moving upstairs to teach Immersion Students Law 12 and French and a Core French 11 class. Very much looking forward to it, as some classes I only have 1 or 2 students!!! Most of the Core French students are taking the class as an indenpendant study, so they only come to my class when they have a free. So be interesting.

*Jon is back to work and is loving it still. They are working on two houses, both near the ocean in the Lunenburg area. He is making plans for changing our front yard in the summer.

* And....we got a digital camera!!! Yeah!!! So from now on, there will be pictures of our lives and what is going on. We bought a Canon PowerShot A530 with 5 megapixels and 4x optical zoom. I am happy with it. So here are some pics of our weekend.

We had supper at my mom and dad's house with some aunts and uncles.

Here is Jon and me with Jon's slightly closed eyes.

So that is all for now, but there should be more regular updates.
