The Land is Coming Along

This week our land has really come along. Over the last month and half it has gone from forest to earth with tons of logs and stumps to what you will see below. I owe the majority of the labour to Jonathan, but we also had help from our families and friends. Our contractor started coming this week so things are really underway now.

This is a picture of the start of the driveway. A lot more earth has been added and some shale.

This is a picture of where the mini-home will be setting, but just picture 40 more loads of earth. And the woods you see in the background....that is what we started with.

This is a picture of the big machine they used to clear the land, take out stumps, etc.

And finally, this is a picture of the stumps and the front of our property. The stumps are all gone now, and we were able to keep some really nice hard woods.

Well, I post more pictures as the land keeps coming along.

My First Post and An Up-date

Well, this is my first blog posting ever, and I think that this will be a great way to stay intouch with people. What is new with me? If you happen to notice the picture with the handsome young man holding me in the evening woods...that would be my fiance, Jonathan Davidson. This picture was taken one of the first times we went ski-dooing this past winter.

We are getting married September 1, and as of tomorrow that is only 6 weeks away!!! I really can't wait. Who knew that finding the love of your life was actually so easy?

In other news...we are living in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia. We have ordered a new mini-home which we will be putting on some land on a dirt road. Who would have guessed that I--a city girl--would be living, willing I might add, on a dirt road in a small town! We hope to have the home a few weeks before the wedding, so right now we are hulling brush and cutting trees in order to get a well and the such in. It is really fun, but tons of paper work.

Besides that...we both work. Jon is a carpenter and I am a teacher...so I guess Jon is working and I am on vacation, for now.

Well, I guess this is the end of my first blog entry. Hope to hear from you!
